Terry is the founder and CEO of Common Sense Solutions. He is actively involved in consulting operations for network services, application development and software implementation, as well as new business development.
Before founding CSS in 1993, Terry served in capacities including Executive VP of Operations, Chief Financial Officer and MIS Director for professional service companies ranging in size from $6 – $35 million in annual sales.
He holds an MBA from Northern Illinois University and is a CPA. Terry’s financial, operational and technical expertise is invaluable to construction and service companies exploring the vast opportunities for utilizing technology. He is well-researched in the construction and service industries and he has become a trusted consultant, advising companies on re-engineering and improved efficiency through the appropriate use of technology and implementation of best practices.
Terry is a member of a number of industry associations and speaks to these groups on wide range of trade-specific technology issues. He also conducts regular webinars and seminars on a variety of construction and service-related technology topics. Terry is the author of, “Computers Should Just Work”, a small business owner’s guide to finding a professional, competent, honest, considerate, on-time, fairly priced and dependable computer consultant.
As President of Common Sense Solutions, Paul oversees the service delivery to over 600 clients using our software products. In short, it is his job to make sure that all new software implementations and support are completed on time, on budget and with a delighted client.
For five years prior to taking on the role of Director of Application Services, Paul was Common Sense Solutions’ CFO. During that time, he learned the importance of using technology and data in making critical business decisions, and he can speak first hand to the challenges that business owners face on a day-to-day basis.
Paul has an eclectic professional background prior to joining Common Sense Solutions. He worked in the legal and financial services industries, as well as providing sales and service advice to the retail industry working with point of sale technology. For fun, he has spent time as a personal trainer and worked in the fashion and modeling industry. He is a sports and fitness nut, having climbed Mt. Ranier and recently completed his first “Tough Mudder”.
Paul has a Bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College, and an MBA from Keller Business School of Management.
Jan oversees finance and administration for Common Sense Solutions. Jan has a Business Administration degree from St. Francis University, MBA classes from DePaul University, a Webmaster certification from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and over thirty years of business and technology experience.
Prior to joining CSS, Jan managed administrative and technical teams and projects for a diverse client list including Federal Express, Ameritech, Corn Products and The Art Institute of Chicago. Her projects included the successful rollout/replacement of network hardware/software to five branch offices, the implementation of a document management and storage system, and the conversion of payroll, HR benefits, safety and training applications.
